The Simple Joy of Magazines

I am at Digital Now in Orlando. things kick off tomorrow at 8 with a keynote from Clay Shirky, author of Here Comes Everybody. It will be all things digital for associations from then till Saturday when Charlene Li, author of Groundswell wraps it up.

So what did I do on the way down here? I bought $40 worth of magazines, good old ink on paper. For almost 3 hours on the plane, I read the exposes in Vanity Fair, the short stories in the New Yorker, at least considered tackling the workouts in Shape, sniffed the perfume strips, oggled the evening gowns, fondled the paper.

In the absence of a good conversation, there is nothing like a magazine to keep you company.
